Alois Dachleitner, an employee of the Munich Trade Office, is terrified of being arrested and shipped off to Siberia when he is assigned to attend the Leipzig trade fair. The anxiety he experiences throughout the journey is transformed into wonder when he sees the exhibits on display at the fair. In the train home, he celebrates with Pilsner Urquell beer, only to be arrested by the West German police upon arrival. His crime? Openly promoting East-West trade!
