Synopsis
Georgi Dimitrov gives a speech calling for all progressive forces to present a unified front at a 1935 convention of the Communist International in Moscow. Scenes from his life are presented in flashbacks and accompanied by historical documents.
Dimitrov is exiled after the Bulgarian communist uprising of 1923, forcing him to part from his life partner and live illegally. He meets many other international communist leaders, including Ernst Thälmann, and supports their fight against fascism. He helps organize a peace conference in Amsterdam and finally has his greatest success when he defeats Germany's fascist leaders in the Reichstag Fire Trial and exposes them to the world.
