Silvia and Lutz are both twenty and work as jockeys at the same large racing stables. Lutz hopes to marry Silvia and start a family together, but Silvia wants to focus on her career rather than settling down. Silvia becomes interested in the charming vet Clemens, but her drive to succeed stands in the way of this relationship, too.

Silvia finally realizes that things have gone too far when her ambition leads to the death of her favorite horse in a riding accident. With help from her friends, she begins to question her own selfish choices.
