Synopsis
The viewer is introduced to the city of Ludwigslust, the "pearl of Mecklenburg," which developed in the second half of the 18th century as the residence of the local nobleman. At that time, it was essential to display your wealth - even if you didn't have much. The local subjects were forced to be resourceful, using paper maché to create stucco, carvings and copies of famous statues.
