Synopsis

The young Countess Gritta von Rattenzuhausbeiuns lives in an old, run-down castle with her father, Count Julius. Gritta spends most of her time roaming the castle grounds with shepherd boy Peter, while her father, who is much more talented at inventing than governing, works on his TM1848 Throne Protection Machine.

After Count Julius marries the elegant but unkind Countess Nesselkrautia, Gritta is sent to a cloister to learn the manners befitting a young noblewoman. But Gritta's free spirit cannot be tamed so easily and a secret she discovers at the closter ends up leading her on a big adventure.

This spunky fairytale is based on the children's book Das Leben der Hochgräfin von Rattenzuhausbeiuns by Bettina and Gisela von Arnim.
