Synopsis

A farmer receives land from the king and discovers a buried golden mortar. He decides to give it to the king out of gratitude, but his clever daughter warns him that the king will surely want him to bring a corresponding pestle as well. When the king throws the farmer into jail for fraud, he bemoans the fact that he did not listen to his daughter.

The king is curious to meet such a clever woman and agrees to marry her after she solves a difficult riddle. The couple is happily married for three years until the queen interferes with an unfair judgement made by the king. Before sending the queen away, the king permits her to take along the one thing that is most dear to her. The king is surprised when he wakes up the next morning in a farmer's cottage, but his wife explains that she has simply taken the one thing most dear to her – him!

This puppet animated film is based on a fairytale by the Brothers Grimm.
