Cuban director Rebeca Chávez uses archival film and audio material to create a collage of important moments in Fidel Castro’s political life. Fidel Castro ruled Cuba for over five decades, since revolutionary forces toppled the Batista regime in 1959. Officially elected by the Cuban people in 1976, Castro nevertheless had to survive over 600 assassination attempts. The film addresses turning points, such as Castro's redefinition of Cuba’s role after the collapse of the Communist Bloc. This film is part of the series Cuba, Paths to Revolution (Cuba, Caminos de Revolución).

• Condemn Me, It Does Not Matter, about Fidel Castro’s role in the Moncada Assault of July 26, 1963.
• My Brother Fidel: Fidel Castro talks to a 92-year-old man who met Cuba’s national hero, José Martí, when he landed with a small force on the night of April 11, 1895.
• The First Delegate: This film recounts the history of the party, including the founding of the Cuban Revolutionary Party in 1892 and José Martí’s involvement.
