Eight year-old Mathias (Peter Welz) dreams of two things: becoming a pilot and seeing his divorced parents get back together. He longs for the arrival of his ninth birthday, when his father had promised to take him flying, just like the mythical Icarus. After his father fails to come, Mathias searches the city for him. Alone on the roof of his house, Mathias decides that Icarus didn’t fall because he could not hear his father’s warnings, but rather he fell because his father had forgotten him.
