On September 11, 1973, Chilean President Salvador Allende and the Unidad Popular government were deposed by a military coup which brought a fascist government to power. This short film, part of the Chile cycle by documentary filmmakers Heynowski and Scheumann, consists of the complete, unedited audio of Allende's final speech to the Chilean people from his presidential palace, accompanied by images and video of the coup.
