After seeing an exhibit about the Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani (1862-1918), filmmaker and artist Jürgen Böttcher was inspired to shoot a film about this country, a dream that he was finally permitted to fulfill two decades later when he received permission to film abroad. The documentary interweaves images and sound to create an imaginative, sensual portrait of Georgia's warm hospitality and natural beauty, taking viewers on a filmic journey through settings as diverse as the medieval capital Mzcheta, the Black Sea, and Caucasian mountain villages.
