Synopsis

"Neglecting to pay a free visit to the Hanoi museums cost the American people 56,369 lives and 146 billion dollars.”

Filmmaking team Heynowksi and Scheumann documented the museums of Hanoi on three occasions: in 1958, in 1967, and in 1975. Each time, the war relicts on display – airplane wreckage, pilot helmuts, bulletproof vests full of holes – silently tell the story of Vietnamese battles against invaders. The message of the film is that those who do not learn from history will themselves be relegated to museum artifacts.

Part of Heynowski and Scheumann's cycle of Vietnam War documentaries.
