Fisher, Holly
Holly Fisher was born in Boston in 1942. She received her BA in Asian Art History at Columbia University in 1964, and a MA in Cinema Studies at NYU in 1982.
Flickenschildt, Elisabeth
Elisabeth Flickenschildt was born on March 16, 1905 in Blankenese, near Hamburg. After finishing school, she completed a six-month apprenticeship at a fashion house and took acting classes with Robert Nhil. Starting in 1930, she played small parts at theaters in Hamburg; followed by engagements in Hanover, Munich, and Berlin. In 1941 Gustaf Gründgens, the director of the Preussisches Staatstheater in Berlin, signed her up.
Forsch, Robert
Robert Forsch was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire on November 21, 1870. In 1894, he started his theater career working as actor, director and dramaturg at theaters in Leipzig, Berlin and Cologne. Throughout his career, he continued to play smaller roles on stage, including at the Deutsches Theater and Renaissance Theater in Berlin.
Foth, Jörg
Jörg Foth was born in Berlin, East Germany, on October 31, 1949. He studied directing at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 1972 to 1977. While at the film academy, he met cinematography student Thomas Plenert; since then, the two have collaborated on many student and professional films.
Franke, Dörte
Dörte Franke, documentarist and writer, was born in Leipzig in 1974. In 1982, she left East Germany and moved to West Germany. Franke studied politics, German literature, and history in Cologne, and then drama studies at the Academy for Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 2001 to 2005.
Freihof, Matthias
Matthias Freihof was born in Plauen on November 25, 1961. He studied acting at the Staatliche Schauspielschule (Academy for Performing Arts) in East Berlin from 1983 to 1987 and took master classes with chanson singer Gisela May. He has played at various theaters, including the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, Kleist Theater in Frankfurt and the Volksbühne in Berlin.
Friedrich, Götz
Götz Friedrich was born on August 4, 1930 in Naumburg, Germany. From 1949 to 1954, he studied drama theory in Weimar. He joined the production team of the Komische Oper in East Berlin in 1953, where he first worked as an assistant director and dramaturg.
Frohriep, Jürgen
Jürgen Frohriep was born in Rostock, Germany on April 28, 1928. Like many boys of his generation, he was called up for military service at the end of WWII. After the war, he worked at various jobs and joined an amateur theater group. In 1951, Frohriep got his first professional engagement at the Theater der Freundschaft in East Berlin; theaters in Stralsund, Erfurt and Altenburg followed.
